The works of Portuguese plastic artist Manuel Seita will be present at the international collective exhibition Between Elsewheres: Memory and Identity Across Cultures (《在彼之间:跨文化的记忆与身份》), patent from September 20 to December 12, 2026 at the Guangzi Art Center in Shanghai.

Manuel Seita’s participation results from his artistic residency at the Taoxichuan Art Center in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi province, held between July 1 and August 31, 2026. During this period, the artist joined the institution’s collection, representing Portugal in one of the most important international centers dedicated to ceramics.

The exhibition brings together works by artists from Belgium, China, France, Japan and Portugal, presenting, through painting, sculpture, installation, photography and new media, different perspectives on universal themes such as nature, memory and identity. The works establish an open dialogue between different cultures, traditions and experiences.

Starting from the concept Between Elsewheres, the project seeks to create bridges between different peoples and ways of interpreting the world, valuing intercultural encounter and sharing experiences. In this perspective, the “there” begins in the “here” and the “between” is born from the meeting.

More than an exhibition, this initiative asserts itself as a space for human and artistic exchange, where each work establishes a relationship with the other and explores the space that exists between the self and the other, between memory and imagination.

This activity has the support of Camões, I.P.
