Cristina Branco is a Portuguese singer whose music has its main aesthetic roots in traditional Portuguese music and fado.
With 19 albums to her name, a career spanning almost 30 years and countless concerts around the world, Cristina Branco is a true ambassador for Portuguese culture. Traditional music is her main artistic foundation, but the influence of jazz, literature and the musicians with whom she shares the stage lend her art a universal character and a sublime charm.
Following the release of the album “Mulheres de Abril”, released in 2025, Cristina Branco won the 2026 José Afonso Award, presented by the Municipality of Amadora, and the PLAY Award for Best Traditional Music Album. The album was also nominated in the category of Best Reinterpretation of Traditional Roots Music.
