Macau has recently sent a delegation of live-streamers and business representatives to Portugal and France for a mission designed to boost cross-border e-commerce.
According to the Economic and Technological Development Bureau, the delegates live-streamed from Portuguese vineyards and local shops where they showcased their wine and soap offerings – alongside Macau’s own products such as essential oil and health foods.
These streams targeted the mainland Chinese market, with over 6,000 orders made – worth more than MOP1.1 million in sales.
Another highlight of the trip was a meet-up with representatives of a Portuguese-Chinese chamber of commerce and local associations to explore innovative ways of conducting cross-border e-commerce.
Later in France, the delegation paid a visit to the Paris Regional Investment Promotion Agency to discuss strategies, and visited iconic department stores such as Printemps and Galeries Lafayette to learn about consumption trends.
They also stopped over at Bonjour Brand, a Sino-French creative platform created in 2014 to foster collaborations between Chinese and French brands, designers, and artists.
