On July 10th, CCILC welcomed a delegation from the city of Benxi, Liaoning province in China, led by local mayor Sun Fuchun, to its headquarters in Lisbon.
Benxi is a city founded in strong industrial tradition, excelling in the steel, metallurgy, chemicals, mining and construction materials sectors. In recent years, it has been diversifying its economy by means of investments in clean energy, technology and eco-tourism.
The main objective of the meeting was to learn about the city’s economic characteristics and explore areas with potential for co-operation between Portuguese and Chinese companies.
The delegation was welcomed by Ilídio de Ayala Serôdio, President of Profabril Consulplano Group, as well as Vice-President of CCILC, and Lurdes Assunção, Advisor to the CCILC Board of Directors.
This meeting also marks a strengthening of high-level information and institutional channels, as well as the CCILC’s reach in its work to promote economic and commercial rapprochement between Portugal and China.
