The Macau Science and Cultural Centre presents the “Patuá Language Workshop”, a language course which will run from May 2nd to September 30th and is open to the general public. The course will be held at the premises of the Macau Science and Cultural Centre, but also offers the possibility of online attendance. The Workshop will have a total of 33 sessions taught by experts in the field of linguistics.
“Patuá is a Macanese Creole whose oral matrix comes mainly from Portuguese, with African, Malay and Chinese influences. Given the status of Patuá as an endangered minority language decreed by Unesco, the workshop is intended to be a set of living lessons and to encourage bridges between East and West.”
