The Macau delegation of the Luso-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCILC-Macau) has held its Annual General Meeting of 2023 at the Portuguese restaurant “Fado” in the Royal Hotel. The meeting was chaired by the Secretary of the General Assembly of CCILC-Macau, Frederico Rato, and convened by the President of the Board of CCILC-Macau, Bernie Leong.

Accompanied by Bernie Leong, Frederico Rato welcomed Alexandre José dos Reis Leitão, General Consul of Portugal in Macau and Hong Kong and Bernardo Pinho, Vice Consul of Portugal in Macau and Hong Kong. Alexandre José dos Reis Leitão thanked CCILC-Macau for the invitation and commitment in organizing the Annual Meeting. He also took the opportunity to convey his strong support for the CCILC’s next initiatives.

Frederico Rato thanked all the members for their support to CCILC-Macau in the past years. He also thanked Alexandre José dos Reis Leitão for accepting the position of Honorary President of CCILC-Macau. He also congratulated and thanked Bernie Leong for the work done in recent years. Finally, he thanked Carlos Álvares for having accepted the election as new President of the Board and, looking to the future, he hoped that CCILC will continue to serve as a bridge between Mainland China and Portugal, helping to expand the business network as a commercial and cooperation platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries.

CCILC-Macao is committed to serving as an exchange platform to promote the development of economic and trade cooperation between China and Portugal. CCILC has around 300 business members from different economic sectors, including subsidiaries of Portuguese companies, and through the Chamber’s network, various kinds of information are communicated and shared, effectively promoting trade and economic cooperation between members and between regions.

At the Meeting, the members were also informed about the current work of the Chamber, including the current situation of the association, the financial reports, a summary of the activities carried out and the activity plan for 2023.
