The Portugal–China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCILC) organises a Business Mission to China, to take place from 17 to 24 October 2026, offering Portuguese companies a unique opportunity to explore two of the country’s most dynamic economic and industrial hubs: Chongqing and Chengdu.

The mission includes participation in the 19th Europe–China Business and Technology Cooperation Fair, regarded as one of the most important platforms for economic, commercial and technological cooperation between Europe and China, complemented by an exclusive programme of business visits, institutional meetings and high-level contacts in Chongqing.

A mission to discover the new China

More than just participating in an international fair, this mission enables participants to gain first-hand insight into China’s economic reality, visit some of the country’s leading industrial and technological centres, and establish privileged contacts with companies, investors and government entities.

Over the course of eight days, participants will have access to a programme that combines:

• participation in the 19th Europe–China Business and Technology Cooperation Fair;
• institutional meetings with local authorities;
• visits to industrial parks and reference companies;
• meetings with Chinese entrepreneurs and investors;
• technical visits to logistics and industrial infrastructure;
• networking opportunities with European and Chinese companies.

Stage I – Chongqing
One of China’s largest industrial and logistics hubs

Prior to the fair, the mission begins in Chongqing, one of China’s main industrial engines and a major centre for automotive production, international logistics and technological innovation.

The preliminary programme includes:

• official meeting with representatives of the Chongqing Municipal Government;
• meeting with a local business group;
• visit to the Chongqing–Macau Industrial Park, including the Portuguese Products Exhibition Centre and the future regional headquarters of the CCILC;
• visit to the Yuxinou International Railway Terminal, the starting point of the Chongqing–Xinjiang–Europe railway corridor;
• visit to a rolling stock manufacturing plant;
• visit to the Chongqing Export Commodities Exhibition and Trading Centre;
• technical visit to a New Energy Vehicle (NEV) production facility.

Travel between Chongqing and Chengdu will be by high-speed train.

Stage II – Chengdu
19th Europe–China Business and Technology Cooperation Fair

Between 21 and 23 October, the Portuguese delegation will participate in the 19th Europe–China Business and Technology Cooperation Fair, organised by the China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC) and the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC).

Established by the European Commission in 2002 and held in Chengdu since 2006, this is now one of the most relevant cooperation platforms between European and Chinese companies.

Previous editions have brought together:

• over 13,000 companies
• approximately 29,000 B2B meetings
• more than 3,300 cooperation agreements

Portuguese citizens are currently exempt from visas for stays of up to 30 days in China.
