On the evening of October 29, the 10th Portugal-China Gala was held in the Black and Silver Room of the Estoril Casino, marking another milestone in the bilateral relations between Portugal and China. This edition also marked a decade of this prestigious event, where more than 250 guests gathered under the motto “A Decade of Shared Achievements | Technology and Innovation as Drivers for a New Era of Cooperation.”

The Gala began with a Networking Cocktail, followed by an inspiring conversation on stage between António Noronha, President of CCILC, and Carlos Cid Álvares, CEO of Banco Nacional Ultramarino (BNU) and President of the CCILC Delegation in Macau.

After dinner, we proceeded to the now traditional presentation of the Business Merit Awards, an important moment in recognizing entities that have made significant contributions to strengthening economic and trade relations. Awards were presented in four categories:

Investment: Grupo Portugália Restauração
Foreign Trade: Balanças Marques
Economic Promotion: Protechting
Innovation: 929 Challenge

The 10th edition of the Gala also marked the introduction of the General Vasco Rocha Vieira Award, presented to Jorge Rangel, President of the International Institute of Macau, and Carlos Cid Alvares, CEO of Banco Nacional Ultramarino. S.A. and President of the CCILC Delegation in Macau.

We also enjoyed a wonderful speech by Hu Bin, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Portugal, and closed the evening with a speech by the Secretary of State for Tourism, Trade, and Services, Pedro Machado.

We would like to thank everyone who attended our 10th Portugal-China Gala, especially the sponsors who made the event possible: Fidelidade, Huawei, Quinta da Marmeleira, REN, Altri Group, ASA LAWYERS PT, Banco Nacional Ultramarino. S.A., EDP, Estoril-Sol, HAITONG, Lektou Advogados, MdME, and TLG Global.

CCILC will continue to work to provide more opportunities for the Portuguese-Chinese business community to meet and cooperate.
