Scale Your Innovation into China: Applications Open Until July 30th, 2026

The International Sci-Tech Innovation Competition for China and Portuguese- and Spanish-Speaking Countries is now open for applications from startups, incubators, accelerators and innovative companies looking to expand internationally.

This initiative offers a unique gateway into the Chinese market through the strategic Hengqin–Macau innovation corridor, connecting high-potential projects with funding opportunities, industrial partnerships, investors and long-term market support.

Whether you are developing breakthrough technologies, scaling a startup or building global innovation partnerships, this competition represents a powerful opportunity to accelerate your international growth.

Why Apply?

Selected projects will gain access to a comprehensive ecosystem designed to support international expansion into China, including:

  • Up to 200 million RMB in total prizes (approx. €25M), across 100 winning projects;
  • First prize of up to 15 million RMB (approx. €1.8M);
  • Coverage of operational costs in China (legal setup, team support, office structure and more);
  • Access to more than 50 private equity funds and direct industry connections in the Greater Bay Area;
  • Up to 12 months of support, including soft-landing, talent recruitment and market access assistance.
Who Can Apply?

Applications are open to:

  • Unlisted companies with ambitions to expand into China, legally registered in Portuguese-speaking countries, Spanish-speaking countries or Macao, China;
  • Startup teams with citizens from these regions as key members.
Key Requirement

Projects must include a strong technological or innovation component and must not be involved in intellectual property disputes.

Competition Timeline
  • Until July 30th, 2026: Online application submissions
  • August – November 2026: Qualification review, online evaluations and final judging process
  • December 2026: Global Final in Hengqin, China, with the top 100 finalist projects
