Lisbon, Portugal, November 22, 2022 – Alibaba Cloud, the digital technologies and intelligence backbone of Alibaba Group, announced today that it has strengthened local partnership and service support in Portugal to facilitate the cloud demands of local customers. Earlier this year, Alibaba Cloud announced its global ‘Regional Accelerator’ program, as efforts to aid its global customers with their digital transformation through robust local partnership programs in key international markets.

Alibaba Cloud also announced that it received a Foreign Trade Award at the 7th Portugal-China Gala, hosted by The Portugal-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCILC) on Novemner 10th. The award was in recognition of the company’s dedicated service to Portuguese customers.

“We are very pleased to make our contribution to the Portuguese economy by establishing our customer service centre in Porto with our local partners,” said Esmie Wang, General Manager of Alibaba Cloud France and South Europe when giving her thank you address at the 7th Portugal-China Gala.

“The Porto centre is part of our global ‘Regional Accelerator’ program designed to enable partners operating in different markets to accelerate their digital innovation capabilities with leading cloud computing technologies. We are committed to supporting partners’ technology innovation and their market expansion with Alibaba Cloud in the years ahead,” Wang added.

The joint effort in supporting Portuguese businesses’ cloud adoption and digital transformation aligns with the Portuguese Government’s initiative ’The Action Plan for the Digital Transition’, which was unveiled in 2020.
